Recording with the Chrome Extension
Record Google Meet sessions straight from your browser. Google Meet only — auto-record is on by default, so once you're signed in there are no buttons to press. No mic permission needed either.
1. Install the Extension
- Open the Tamloot extension on the Chrome Web Store
- Click "Add to Chrome", then "Add extension"
A welcome tab opens with a short 3-step guide.
2. Pin the Extension
Keep Tamloot one click away:
- Click the puzzle piece icon in the Chrome toolbar
- Hit the pin next to Tamloot
3. Sign In
- Click the Tamloot icon
- Hit "Sign in or create account"
- Finish sign-in with Google or email — if you're new, your account is created automatically
Sign in once. You're set.
4. Record Your Session
Recording runs itself. Join a Google Meet and the extension starts the moment the call loads. A "Tamloot Recording" pill appears at the top-right of the Meet page, and the toolbar icon shows a recording badge.
Leave the call and recording stops on its own. The popup shows "Uploading recording…" then "Recording saved" — you can close the tab, it picks back up on next launch. Minutes later your session lands in the dashboard with summary, themes, action items, and notes ready.
Prefer manual control? Toggle "Auto-record sessions" off in the popup, then hit "Start recording" on any Meet call.
Tips
- No mic permission. Audio is captured straight from Google Meet's streams.
- Google Meet only. For Zoom, Teams, or Webex, use the desktop app instead.
- Switch tabs freely. Recording keeps running in the background.
- Changed your mind mid-call? "Cancel recording" discards the audio and creates no session.
- Get consent — make sure everyone in the conversation knows it's being recorded.
- Signed out? You'll see a "Tamloot is not recording" banner. Sign back in from the popup or the banner.
