# Recording Sessions

Tamloot records your conversations wherever they happen — online, in person, or from a file you already have. Pick the one method that matches how you usually meet. You only need one.

## Which method is for you

| You usually meet on… | Use | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| **Google Meet** | Chrome extension | [Full guide](/docs/chrome-extension-recording) |
| **Zoom, Teams, Slack huddles** — anything running on your computer | Desktop app (Mac & Windows) | [Full guide](/docs/desktop-app-recording) |
| **In person** | iOS app, or record in your browser | [Full guide](/docs/in-person-recording) |
| **Already have a recording** | Upload the audio file | [Full guide](/docs/upload-recording) |

In the dashboard, the **Recording Tools** button at the bottom of the sidebar gathers every install link and option in one place. The [how to start](/how-to-start) page walks through the same setup.

## Online sessions

**Google Meet** → install the [Chrome extension](/docs/chrome-extension-recording).

**Zoom, Teams, Slack huddles** → install the [desktop app](/docs/desktop-app-recording). One install covers every meeting tool running on your computer, Google Meet included — so you don't need both the extension and the desktop app.

Both **detect your calls and start recording on their own**. Once installed, there's nothing to press.

No bot joins your meetings. The extension and desktop app record quietly from your side, so the people you work with see only you.

---

## In-person sessions

Record face-to-face conversations with the [iOS app](/docs/in-person-recording) or straight from your browser in the dashboard. If you'd rather record on another device, [upload the audio file](/docs/upload-recording) afterward.

---

## After recording

Every method lands in the same place:

1. **Transcription** — audio is transcribed automatically, usually within a few minutes
2. **AI notes** — summary, key themes, action items, and professional notes
3. **Sessions** — everything appears in your dashboard under Sessions

The desktop app skips very short recordings — roughly under 20 seconds — so a quick test clip there won't create a session.
