Recording an In-Person Meeting
Tamloot isn't just for online meetings — you can also record in-person (frontal) sessions and get the same AI-powered transcription and session notes.
Use the audio upload feature to record your face-to-face sessions with your phone or any recording device, then upload the audio file to Tamloot for processing.
How It Works
- Record the session using your phone, voice recorder, or any device that captures audio
- Upload the audio file to Tamloot from the dashboard
- Receive automatic transcription and AI-generated session notes
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Record the Session
Use any device that can record audio — your phone's built-in voice recorder works great:
- iPhone: Open the Voice Memos app and tap the red record button
- Android: Open the Recorder or Voice Recorder app and tap record
- External recorder: Any device that saves audio in a standard format (MP3, WAV, M4A, etc.)
Tips for better recordings:
- Place the recording device between you and the client for balanced audio
- Avoid noisy environments when possible
- Make sure the device has enough battery and storage before starting
- Test a short recording first to check audio quality
2. Upload to Tamloot
Once the session is over:
- Go to the Sessions page in the dashboard at app.tamloot.cc
- Click the "Upload" button
- Select your audio file from your device
- You'll see a progress indicator while the file uploads
- Once uploaded, transcription begins automatically
Supported formats: MP3, WAV, WebM, OGG, M4A
If your recording device saves in a different format, you may need to convert it first using a free converter tool.
3. Get Your Session Notes
After uploading, Tamloot processes the recording the same way it handles online sessions:
- Transcription — Audio is transcribed automatically (usually 2–5 minutes)
- AI Notes — Claude generates a summary, key themes, client items, professional notes, and resources
- Dashboard — View everything in your dashboard under Sessions
Recording Consent
As a therapist, always inform your client before recording a session. Make sure to:
- Get verbal or written consent before starting the recording
- Explain how the recording will be used (transcription and session notes)
- Let the client know they can ask to stop recording at any time
Tips
- Minimum duration — Recordings must be at least 2 minutes long. Shorter recordings are automatically skipped.
- Link to a client — Always associate the uploaded session with a client for the best experience with AI notes and meeting prep.
- Phone recordings — Most phones save recordings in M4A or MP3 format, both of which are supported.
- Multiple speakers — For best transcription quality, ensure both speakers are audible in the recording.
- Quiet environment — Background noise can reduce transcription accuracy. Choose a quiet space when possible.
