Uploading an Audio Recording
Already have a recording from a session? Upload it directly to Tamloot and get automatic transcription and AI-powered session notes — no live recording needed.
This is useful when you've recorded a session using an external app, received a recording from a colleague, or want to process an older recording.
How It Works
- Upload your audio file from the Tamloot dashboard
- Transcription starts automatically once the upload completes
- AI Notes are generated — summary, key themes, client items, professional notes, and resources
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Go to the Sessions Page
Open the dashboard at app.tamloot.cc and navigate to the Sessions page.
2. Click "Upload"
Click the "Upload" button to open the file picker.
3. Select Your Audio File
Choose the audio file from your device. Supported formats:
| Format | Extension | Common Source |
|---|---|---|
| MP3 | .mp3 | Most recording apps, voice recorders |
| WAV | .wav | Professional recorders, desktop apps |
| WebM | .webm | Browser-based recordings |
| OGG | .ogg | Open-source recording tools |
| M4A | .m4a | iPhone Voice Memos, Apple devices |
4. Wait for Upload
You'll see a progress indicator while the file uploads. Upload time depends on file size and your internet connection.
5. Processing Begins
Once the upload completes, processing starts automatically:
- Transcription — Audio is transcribed (usually 2–5 minutes depending on session length)
- AI Notes — Claude generates a summary, key themes, client items, professional notes, and resources
- Dashboard — View everything in your dashboard under Sessions
Tips
- Supported formats — MP3, WAV, WebM, OGG, and M4A. If your file is in a different format, convert it first using a free online converter.
- Minimum duration — Recordings must be at least 2 minutes long. Shorter recordings are automatically skipped.
- Link to a client — Associate the uploaded session with a client for the best experience with AI notes and meeting prep.
- Audio quality — Clearer audio produces better transcriptions. Avoid files with excessive background noise when possible.
- File size — There's no strict file size limit, but larger files take longer to upload. A typical 50-minute session in MP3 format is around 50 MB.
- In-person sessions — If you regularly record face-to-face sessions, check out the in-person recording guide for tips on getting the best results.
